MEET THE TEAM
DUNCAN - FOUNDER
Profile: Duncan founded the company in 2015 and is a keen entrepreneur, he enjoys a challenge and is always looking to develop and evolve the business.
Outside the workshop: Duncan will most likely be following cricket or cheering on Wealdstone FC.
Favourite job: “I like the story behind the Morris 8 we re-trimmed, the owner bought it as a 15 year old for £30 in 1953, our work provided the finishing touches to a restoration he had waited virtually his whole life to complete”.
BENJ - TRIMMER
Profile: Benj is our most experienced trimmer with nearly 40 years in the trade. There is seldom a job that Benj hasn’t come across before and his methodical approach ensures jobs are undertaken thoughtfully and diligently.
Outside the workshop: Benj is Chairman of the Oxted British Legion Club and also an avid Crystal Palace fan.
Favourite job: "Having been trimming since I left school, it's very difficult to pick just one. Every classic car provides its own unique challenge. The long process of having to make a pattern and adapt it until its right and then seeing the finished result, makes the hard work worth while."
RICH - TRIMMER
Profile: Rich joined us in the early days back in 2015 and has grown into an accomplished trimmer having been with us since he left school. An innovative thinker, Rich keeps up to speed on market developments and leads on many of our nouveau car trimming jobs.
Outside the workshop: He's busy decorating his new house, but can also be found at most car shows in the South East with his Porsche!
Favourite job: “We've just finished a really cool beach buggy, a full bespoke retrim in white leather with diamond stitch and a blue stripe running through it, looks amazing!"
RIA - JUNIOR TRIMMER
Profile: Ria has moved from Cheltenham to join the team as our Junior Trimmer. Having tried her hand at domestic upholstery over the past year, she realised that auto upholstery was what she wanted to do. Enthusiastic, inquisitive, and diligent, Ria has hit the ground running and sure to be a major part of the companys future.
Outside the workshop: She has a keen interest in American underground punk and rap music, and golf, but probably not at the same time! She also loves classic cars.
Favourite job: “I dont really have one just yet, but its been great seeing the type of vehicles we get into the workshop, everyday is a treat.”
DARREN - PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN
Profile: Darren brings a wealth of experience to the role of production tech. His "can do" attitude towards work makes light of difficult and varied tasks supporting our production operation. Darren is also an accomplished interior restorer, enabling us to offer clients the choice to connolise their trim.
Outside the workshop: He will often be taking his daughter for a day out somewhere in his Lotus, or at home taking care of his 2 new kittens.
Favourite job: “I dont have a favourite yet but I love seeing all the different cars that come in, particularly the Lotus'. ”
MARIA - HEAD OF PRODUCTION
Profile: Maria is responsible for overseeing the production department. Her unwavering atitude towards completing tasks under time pressures is first class and her management of the production team is impeccable.
Outside the workshop: Maria will be with her family looking after her grandchildren, or down on the south coast enjoying many a motorbike rally.
Favourite job: “We’ve had a few dishy celebrities with their classic cars lately, but I can’t name names…”
GEMMA - PRODUCTION MACHINIST
Profile: Gemma is an integral part of the production team, she brings an abundance of enthusiasm and personality to the workshop every day. An accomplished machinist, she is also a dab hand on the high frequency welding machine.
Outside the workshop: Gemma has a young son keeping her very busy! She also enjoys socialising with friends at various music events.
Favourite job: “I’m a big fan of classic cars and the MGC retrim we did recently was stunning”
ARIANNA - PRODUCTION MACHINIST
Profile: Arianna is another new recruit this year and has been a brilliant addition to the production team. Born in Venezuela, her South American artistic nature is already beginning to shine through her work. She has also been integral in re-organising the workshop into a more streamlined operation.
Outside the workshop: Arianna is a keen contemporary artist and has been displaying her work in an adjoining building to the workshop. She also enjoys making great food and creating unusual cocktail drinks!
Favourite job: “Disfruto de la presion de entregar los pedidios de produccion a tiempo. Somos un gran equipo.”
ORLANDO - PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Profile: Orlando has been a vital member of the team ever since he first walked through the door following a speculative job enquiry!
Bringing a dry sense of humour to the workshop, he is a diligent and hard working young man, although he does have a tendency to 'shadow-bat' with the pieces of material he cuts?!
Outside the workshop: He'll be watching the IPL or playing cricket for Four Elms
Favourite job: “I'm about to join the RAF in August, so I hope that will be my favourite job. Until then, and although it's been my only job, this is definitely my best job!”
