MEET THE TEAM
DUNCAN WEST - FOUNDER
Profile: Duncan founded the company in 2015 and is a keen entrepreneur, he enjoys a challenge and is always looking to develop and evolve the business.
Outside the workshop: Duncan will most likely be following cricket or cheering on Wealdstone FC.
Favourite job: “I like the story behind the Morris 8 we re-trimmed, the owner bought it as a 15 year old for £30 in 1953, our work provided the finishing touches to a restoration he had waited virtually his whole life to complete”.
BRENDAN BENNETT - TRIMMER
Profile: Benj is our most experienced trimmer and a brilliant problem solver. There is seldom a job that Benj hasn’t come across before and his methodical approach ensures jobs are undertaken thoughtfully and diligently.
Outside the workshop: Benj is Chairman of the Oxted British Legion Club and also an avid Crystal Palace fan.
Favourite job: "There are so many to choose from! Having been trimming since I left school, it's very difficult to pick just one. Every classic car has it's own personality and provides its own unique challenge. The long process of having to make a pattern and adapt it until its right and then seeing the finished result, makes the hard work worth while."
EMILY MOSS - TRIMMER
Profile: Emily started with us in January 2022 and fitted straight into the team brilliantly. A diligent and skilled trimmer, she has experience with camper van and horsebox retrims. A dry sense of humour, she is quick witted and disarming in equal measure.
Outside the workshop: Emily is a keen Netball player and horse rider, she also enjoys socialising with friends and listening to The Cure!
Favourite job: “Campervan restorations are incredibly rewarding to work on, but also simple seat repairs when customers leave us delighted”
GEMMA O'CONNOR - MACHINIST
Profile: Gemma is our most recent addition to the team. A fast learner, she shows interest in all things we do here and brings a bucket load of enthusiasm to the workshop each day.
Outside the workshop: Gemma has young Arthur keeping her very busy! She also enjoys socialising with friends.
Favourite job: “I’m a big fan of classic cars and the MGC retrim we did recently was stunning”
RICHARD HOLMES - TRIMMER
Profile: Rich is an accomplished trimmer, having worked at Vamped since he left school. At 25 he continues to demonstrate maturity and wisdom beyond his years. An innovative thinker, Rich keeps up to speed on market developments and leads on many of our nouveau car trimming jobs.
Outside the workshop: Rich can be found modifying his Audi A5 or showing it off at car shows.
Favourite job: “The first retrim I did, a Jensen Interceptor. The difference from when the car arrived and when it left was truly amazing (see our gallery). Being involved in the process of restoring classic cars has always been a dream of mine”
MARIA JOHNSON - MACHINIST
Profile: Maria is a highly competent machinist. Her calm and methodical approach, and dry sense of humour, has been integral in the recent development of our production business.
Outside the workshop: Maria will be with her family, looking after grandchildren down on the south coast.
Favourite job: “We’ve had a few dishy celebrities with their classic cars lately, but I can’t name names…”
OLLY GOOD - PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
Profile: Olly joined the team after approaching us about trimming his own 1985 BMW E30. A very talented young man, he’s been quick to learn the skills needed to be a competent trimmer and has been a significant help in lightening the busy summer workload.
Outside the workshop: Olly can be found at the bottom of the ocean scuba diving or working on his BMW.
Favourite job: “My BMW”
